AVG will not scan whole computer! I think I have a virus

My computer is sick! It takes forever to load when I start it, I can't download any thing like Malwayrebytes Anti Malware or Spybot, it keeps freezing and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it! Worst of all, AVG won't scan! What do I do? I am a total computard!!!

    Hi,

Have you tried going into "Safe Mode" and running the scan from within there..?

Keep pressing (repeatedly) the [F8] button when the machine starts up, then choose 'Safe mode'. This will take you into the "Safe Mode" to scan it from...

You will only have the default drivers, so everything will look huge, but that's the price you pay...
I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...
Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...
