| Key - Access Dell CMOS / BIOS? Fellow Full-time & Part-time Nerds:
A friend has a Dell - vintage 1997-98. I do not have the model, but I was told that it is running WinNT and AMI Bios. I have not yet seen this computer: Which key likely accesses BIOS for this year Dell? Sorry I do not have additional info.
Thx.

Recent Dells use F2, if that doesn't work, maybe the DEL key. You may have to try it several times to hit it just right when it boots up.
Good luck |

I'll pass the Del and F2 key info along!
I appreciate the rapid responses.

My high school got a bunch of Dell workstations around that time. It says Press F2 in the upper right corner of the screen to get into the bios. |

If all else fails, I've got a Dell OptiPlex GXi that has a Maintenance Mode jumper. When you set it and boot, it forces the machine into the BIOS and allows you to set the clock speed (ont the OptiPlex anyway). Perhaps that one would have that too if DEL or F2 fail....

Sometimes you have to hit: CTRL + ALT + ENTER at the same time to get in... |
