Thread: "ICH" file?
March 1st, 2012, 07:33 PM #1
I have read several guides to installing Win & onto an SSD, and all of them seem to have this "Load the ICH file onto a USB drive for use during install".
So I am smart enough to realize that this "ICH File" must be a driver file of some sort, but I am at a loss as to what/where/why/how/who and all the rest.
Installing Win 7 Pro onto a Crucial M4 128Gig SSD.
Any help would be very much appreciated; this computer is supposed to be AC's birthday gift.
PS: Yes, this really makes me feel like a newbie (again )

I'm not aware of having to install any driver to usb to install to SSD. I installed XP pro 64 onto a 120 GB SSD without doing that and this was a clone operation.

Found what it was refering to... Finally.
It was refering to the RAID drivers. "When setting up an SSD to use RST you need to..."
Not refering to the OS install at all, but to the RST set up.
Makes me feel like a fool.
