Blocked site on Google on Chome, now I can't access page on any computer/browser

I accidentally blocked an important webpage when searching through Google (you know, when you hit back and then google gives you the option to block results).

I don't know if the above is tied to anything, but now whenever I try going to the site I get redirected to the Google search page.

Sometimes, I actually do get to the homepage. However, whenever I try to click on a page on the website, I get a 404 Not Found Error that reads:

    Not Found

The requested URL /(page on website) was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.22 (Unix Server) at (website) Port 80

This problems exists on all browsers and on different computers, so it has do have something to do with my network, right?

Sorry if this isn't in the right section!

I'm not familiar with Google's block capability. That is new to me. You could try changing your IP address. Here's how: If your router supports it, there is an option for MAC address clone. What you need to do is change the last six hexadecimal values. A typical MAC address looks like this: A1:22:55:FA:3C:9F Just change the last two of you router's MAC address. Numbers 0-9 Letters A-F So you could use something like 1F or A2.. whatever. After you enable MAC address clone in the router and change the last two digits and save you must press and hold the reset button on the modem for at least 15 seconds. The modem not the router. This will give you (hopefully) a new IP address. To check to see if you got a new IP address use this site: Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

I hope you understand what I'm saying here. If you have any questions fire away. I sure hope you don't have DSL because I'm not sure if the MAC address clone feature works for DSL. You could try it though, but no guaranties.

This works because of the so called sticky IP address that gets handed out by your ISP's server. When the hardware looks like it's been changed you get a new IP address.

I just thought of something after reading this: Blocked Sites, No Longer Available in Google Search?

You could create a Google account and mange the block.

If you have a YouTube account log in there then go to this page: http://www.google.com/reviews/t?hl=en

BTW- If you want to mess around with blocking sites and so fourth use this service OpenDNS - Cloud Internet Security and DNS Just change you DNS in the router to Opendns's servers.

I don't use Chroome much but I don't recall this being a built in feature. Are you sure its not an add-on or perhaps a feature from your security software?

    Well, here's an update.

I successfully changed my IP address using your method. However, I still cannot access the site's pages.

I tried to manage my blocked sites on that Google link, but I can't click Unblock! My mouse goes over the option, and the cursor changes for a blick, but when I click it does absolutely nothing. Also, I am pretty sure I originally blocked the site under my sister's google account. She signed on to her account to see if I could unblock it, but google says there are no blocked sites.

Also, this may be of use. When I access the homepage through Google now, it redirects me to the Google search page. However, when I type the URL in the address bar, it takes me to the page.

    Any more help?

What is the page? Have you tried another browser? Are you sure their site just isn't experiencing issues?

edit: Der I just realized you said on any browser. Well if you are typing the url into a browser besides Chrome, or you aren't logged into the same Google account you think you blocked it from then either the site is down or you are blocking it from something else think your security software.

You said you "occasionally" reach the home page and can navigate to other page but get an Apache error, so that means its not likely an issue on your end. That would mean the site is down or possibly having issues

    Well, that was before.

Now my situation is this. I can go onto the homepage of the site everytime when I type the address in my address bar, on any browser and computer. However, when I try to access any other page on the site it doesn't work, and I get the Apache error.

I would like to share the link, but it would reveal some personal information. It is a local sports league that I play in.

Based on my description, could it just be site issues? If you don't think so, I could maybe supply the URL through PM or something.

Well you can pm it to me, but yeah if you can access the main site and not their secondary pages then its their site and nothing on on your end.

Well it's important to note that I also can't access the site through Google either. However, I'll PM you the URL.

    UPDATE:

Problem has been solved. Turns out it was just a site issue!

Thanks for all your help guys!

If you look at their Facebook it looks like they are aware of the issue.

Hey no worries, I do it from time to time. Usually if you get that type of error, especially off the main site, it means they are the ones having problems and not you. But its always good to check with someone else just to make sure.

At least we got it figured out for ya!

Wow! After all that it turned out to be their site. Glad to hear you know what's up.

BTW- I was going to recommend the add-on for Firefox called Betterprivacy, Betterprivacy will delete so called flash cookies that are permanently stored on your computer. Then I was going to recommend Ccleaner. Sense you use Firefox I highly recommend Betterprivacy!
