Video Editing Software....

I am in need of some video editing software that will allow me to convert some .MOV files to .MPEG along with merging several files together and "dubbing" in some music on top. Is there some software that someone can recommend that would allow me to do this. Preferably free of charge (Freeware). I know Ulead has some good software to do this sort of thing, but it is a little expensive.

Any suggestions are welcome,

There you'll find all the free software for your project. And guides on how to do just about anything.

However, good luck converting the MOV files. You'll need it. I've had very limited success converting MOV files to AVI or MPG.

Yep. vcdhelp.com is the best. They have loads of tutorials there. You can use TMPGEnc, which is free, for all of your editing needs.
