Win 7 (64 bit) Browser Problem
This is a new one on me. Never seen this before, fairly new HP Deskside a6733w.
5 GB Ram, 685 GB HD, AMD Phenom II X2.
I was running the free version of Ad-Aware and when it was time about 3 days ago to download the update, it offered Ad-Aware Pro free trial for 30 days, ( No credit card info requested )
Now, she always keeps the machine running and always keeps three windows up, IE8. Weather Channel, Fox news and Facebook, When she attempts to open a fourth tab, it says Internet Explorer can not display this page, Allowing it to troubleshoot, as if offers, you get no help. At that point, the three already open tabs may not refresh or, renew at all, just sits there spinning
Is there something I don't know about settings in ad aware Pro? I just started a full scan as the quick scan only ran about 3 seconds. Already, 8 minutes into the scan there are74 traces detected! She knows better than to download anything with an .exe extension. The only place she ever went recently was to a Godlife web site to pull down some .gif religious icons.
Any ideas guys and gals?Last edited by Networker4321; June 20th, 2012 at 09:50 PM.

bit off topic, but for myself I'm about to dump off Ad Aware and go back to one of the other programs instead, I'm running the free version, but its dang browser scanning feature, sometimes won't let me access certain pages, or at least always has to warn me... even after I have disabled the plugin in Firefox, disabled its process in Task Manager, and turned the feature off, so for all intents and purposes it should be shut off, but still nags about opening potentially dangerous sites and pages.
so with the constant nag of the software, even after its fully, or supposedly fully disabled, and even so far as to end the Adaware processes in Task manager altogether, it pops up again and nags about opening said sites...
so, I'm actually thinking of ditching ad-aware, and going back with something like Spybot, or whatever else is out there that will do the trick.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Yep, 24 hours later, turned off all but safe browsing in the 12 option Ad Aware Pro trial version and no problem anymore. It didn't really occur to me until I was mid post but I do believe that was the issue.
Thanks for the response! ( Have you tried the "Collusion" Plug in in Firefox? I asked somebody else in herem hopefully not you twice,,
Amazing how many trackers there are out there. I am going to disable the plug in now that I know. Plus, my credit card is loaded in Amazon, Direct TV and Windstream, maybe Citibank. Yikes!
