Hey Guys I was wondering what My cpu temps should be, I am bouncing between

    32 31 28 30 - c / lowest

then I ran Prime95 and played some mmos and these temps are what came back

    64 70 68 67 - c / highest

shut off prime 95 and my mmo, they dropped to

    34 33 30 32 - give or take 1-2 c on each for variance.

is this good for the 3770k on air? or should I be looking into water cooling? Also I am using innovations cooling thermal compound it is applied correctly and a hyper 612

Well, the Ivy Bridge chips do run a bit warmer than Sandy Bridge, so that might account for the warmer Idle temps, not sure on the load temps, but generally looks OK.

also have to take into account the ambient room temps, and airflow in case, is it uniform, and all in one general direction?

Also is this at stock clock speeds, or is it already Overclocked?

All stock I atm, I am / havent over clocked anything atm I am going to return this cpu cooler because I have a push / pull setup atm but the from fan pushing the 612 air through is set slightly higher because of the corsair ram heat spreaders being so damn tall. It is only about 3/8 of an inch higher on the heat sink then it should be the room temp I would say is between 73-75.

But the problem I run into with that is finding a CPU cooler that isn't like this
Hyper 612 PWM - Cooler Master <-- btw this is what i got

The front intake fan is to much if it wasnt there it would be perfectly sized, The asus maximus board doesnt give me to much room lol if only the ram dimms was 25.4MM / 1 inch more to the right.

They do make lower profile Vengeance kits: 4x Micro Center - Computers, Electronics, Computer Parts, Networking, Gaming, Software, and more!

not sure why you have 32GB RAM, if this is a gaming rig just 8GB is over kill.

Not Just a gaming rig but if it was that would be overkill yes I am more or less using it for blu ray ripping for a personal back up of the legit movie i already own, autocad and some adobe software.

I see, yeah AutoCAD or any other 3D modeling/animation software will eat that up easily enough, same with Adobe Video Editing software, and some 2D Photo software sometimes.

I'm only running 6GB of the same Vengeance RAM you have, and even then, some of the highly detailed high polygon 3D models/meshes I load in Carrara and other programs will eat up most of my available RAM.

Several times now, I have some Star Wars Meshes I try to load, and tends to bog down, lag or ultimately crashes Carrara, and takes for ever to load the meshes up when it does work.

I tried that on 3GB RAM, things improved a bit on 6GB, but I feel thats not even enough, sadly I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit so most I can have is 16GB Of RAM, if I moved to Pro I could use my systems max of 24GB if I wanted.

There's a reason I put "4x" in front of the link.

you have an existing 4x 8GB Kit, buy 4 of those individual 8GB Kits and its the same, you end paying a bit more, but its only $10 or so more, for the convenience.

See if you can exchange the existing kit back in for the lower profile ones.

eh, was looking at the pic for it, shows a single stick, didn't see it was a dual stick kit.

Corsair does sell single sticks though, Newegg has them if MicroCenter Doesn't.

    Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model CML8GX3M1A1600C10

Actually comes out to be cheaper than MC as well.

the 32GB low profile kit is actually even cheaper yet:

    Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance LP 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML32GX3M4A1600C10

I gave up with new egg due to how much trouble they gave me when I tried to order my 690gtx, I had to go through amazon to get it and I am rather annoyed with them also atm. I prefer to pick it the memory somewhere here in columbus, But it seems microcenter is all I have since best buy here has got next to nothing.

I see, maybe some kind of limit or something on the card that they accepted or some troubles with their systems processing with your bank.

normally I don't ever experience that problem with them, but considering the dollar amounts of items you ordered could of been related to that.

    Anyways...
