| To XP Warez users: Microsoft will find JOO! XP WareZ Hounds Beware Get ready to buy original copies of Windows XP for those of you warez users, or pray them k3wl hackors crack the code fast
Currently, Microsoft is in the works of completely rewriting the algorithm for the way Windows XP Corporate keys are generated, and is rewriting the code for Windows XP to recognize this new algorithm. This new code will be an added ‘feature’ of Service Pack 1 due out later this year

And the groups will release hacked service pack for the users that can't generate legit key with the key generator.
It's been known for a while already that m$ would include a black list of shared keys on sp1.

a couple of thought come to mind...
1. why would I even bother with the service pack? if I don't upgrade, then things should go on being like they are... correct?
2. regardless, I have no doubt that there are people working within m$ against m$. there will be a crack/hack/whateverYouWantToCallIt for this just like there is for everything out there... such is the nature of the universe it seems!
we'll see what happens

I am sure M$ doesn't like it, cause instead of making 1.5 Billion net profit this year, they could have made double or triple that...

IMO I think microsoft should let people install their operating system on as many computers they want (as long as it is yours)..... Come on microsoft who the hell whats to spend 200 dolllars on each computer they own.
For me that will be like 800 dollars... sorry microsoft but i don't have that kind of money.

hawk: I can understand why they don't want that to happen. Say if one person lends his copy to say 5 friends, and each of those friends passes it on to another 5 friends etc etc. Imagine the money MS would be losing? The amount would be incredibly high. No business, a multibillion dollar empire like MS or a corner shop that sells hot chips likes losing money.
I, for one, have seen 100's of illegal copies of xp floating around, and its all due to the fact that a legit copy costs an arm and a leg. If MS cut down the price, they would be surprised by the decrease in pirating of their software.
As for the service pack, once people know about the new additions, they simply won't purchase it. Product activation was a good step forward for MS, but there is a damn long way to go.
