The "Notification Panel" that you slide down from the main screen."Common Sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden."

I think he wants to disable the device scanning whilst leaving Bluetooth itself enabled, Steve.
I wasn't really aware that scans were performed outside of when you requested them, and maybe when Bluetooth was initially turned on. Just been looking on a 6 series device and can't even see how to turn off visibility anymore. That and a 5 series didn't see each other until I told them to scan, though.

Paul - you're probably right... My Android 5 gives me the impression it scans on demand... It's lists my car and two unknown devices AND a scan option."Common Sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden."

Yup that's right...In Marshmallow there's an option to disable both wifi and bluetooth scanning but in Lollipop, I can't seem to find the option to turn off bluetooth scanning.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
