Want a dual keyboard/dual mouse setup - Possible?

I would like to have 2 keyboards and 2 mice connected to my new computer running XP. I was thinking of getting a wireless kybd/mouse hooked up to the usb port and keep my regular kybd/mouse hooked to the ps/2 ports. Will this work?

I will not be using them at the same time - one from my desk and one from across the room on another desk - but would prefer not having to deal with switches etc. Just both kybds/mice available for input at all times.

Thanks!

Try this, you can search for the mouse y-adapter also from the same place.

These things automatically switch between a second keyboard or mouse.

You can also try a usb mouse/keyboard setup. I use a trackball for browsing and a regular optical mouse for Counter Strike. Both are plugged into a usb hub.

Yes, that will work. You can hook up a 50 USB keyboards and 50 USB mice at the same time to the same computer if you chose to do so...and they would all work

I Have a wireless setup, but I didnt like the mouse much (seemed not too responsive for gaming), so I bought another wired mouse, and now my wireless mouse sets next to the couch across the room, as a makeshift remote control, like when a DVD is done playing.

KVM's dont help when you want more than one set of keyboard/mice hooked up to one computer. KVM's are made to hook up one set of Keyboard/mice to two or more computers, which is the opposite of what you want. All you need is that all your peripheals outside of your first pair be USB peripherals, since the convention of boards is to have only one set of PS/2 ports.

BTW, you friends may try to mess with your head if thier sitting across the room and have access to the wireless mouse. Just forewarning you.

Understood AuraEdge. I'm going to get a usb kybd/mouse wireless setup in addition to the PS2 kybd/mouse and run both at the same time. I'll make sure no one messes with my head -

Now for my next question which probably belongs in a separate thread but since you guys have hooked me up here I'll continue my query - any recommendations for getting the video across the room in the cheapest possible way? I do not have a dual monitor card. Thanks!
