I have a program with a .img extension. What do I have to do in order to burn it to a cd and be usable? Thanks-

I think my Nero burner program uses .img for it's image file. If you tell it to burn an image and specify the .img file it will write it to the CD. Understand I didn't do any research on this it is just off the top of my head.

Chapmc----you are correct. Nero will burn the img.

Galehickey- you may have to select the "show image files" from the drop down menu you get when selecting the file. Sorry-- that sounds a little vague, but im at work and can't member the exact wording in the menu, let me know if you need more info.

Close down the wizard. Click on "file" in the main menu and then "burn image". Change filetype to "all files". Select the file and you're ready to burn.
You can burn even burn ISO and BIN/CUE.

I used Nero as you suggested in your faq and chose
a iso file and an img file to burn to two separate discs-
at the completion of each I received the message "burn
sucessful"-only problem is both cd's are blank!
Even went into explorer and nothing-how is that for beginners luck. Where is frowning smiley face when I need him?

of course if you have access to a Mac system with toast, its much easier. Just drag and drop the IMG file into the toast window....

Other than that I believe any PC CD software can work for you, Nero, Easy CD etc.. all have a option to burn from CD image.
