Well, for those of you who mighta been on the edge of yer seats...
It worked pretty much somewhat OK... If you need a refresher on just what worked ok, see report below. Anyway, I built the new system, swapping and adding as I went, and never wiped the drive(s). Upon start up, found a few new USB ports and such, all went smooth. Installed 4 in 1 Drivers, etc... No problems. Only hang up is PC Cillin... I am now thinking I should have un-installed that before the mobo swap, but didn't think of it. Now I know. It will not fire up, and attempts to un-install it now are futile... using both PC-Cillin's installer and the one from my COntrol Panel. Anyone got any advice for that one? I'm now virus scan-less, and don't like the feeling one bit. I cna't do a new install until I un-install. Open for suggestions...
But I must say, no other glitches what-so-ever, and I'm enjoying my new system

New mobo and cpu... have to wipe drives?
Just wondering if anyone knows... I have an AsusA7V266 system with an Athlon XP1600+ right now, and what I'm looking to do is build my new system using an Asus A7V333 board and an Athlon 2200+... Everything else from the old system will be swapped into the new one (GeForce4, CDR, everything). Can I just pop my two drives from the old system into the new one without wiping and reinstalling? I can't find any info on if this will work, or should I start backing up my files now? Only real changes will be in the mobo, cpu and memory, and I can try to plug in to the same slots I used on old system. Any help is super appreciated... thanx
