| Setting up email account in Outlook Express
I keep getting the error message, "POP3 couldn't be found, please verify that the Server Name is correct in the Account Setup", when trying to send email in Outlook Express. I've check and rechecked the account server, and it appears as though the Server Name is correct, but evidently it's not. My question is, what is suppose to be included in the mail account dialog setup Box to allow me to send and receive mail? Thanks.

P.S. A sample of what that Dialog Box should look like would be greatly appreciated. |

I'm making some guesses here but I would guess you need to use teh FQD, like: mail.myisp.com
or maybe... pop3.myisp.com
If this doesn't work, who's the ISP and are you behind a NAT router or proxy? |

Those two "Addies" don't work. I get an error message: Socket error 11001 and error: 0x800CCCOD. My ISP is Worldnetoh.

Here's what mine looks like. I'm using Outlook (not Outlook Express) so it may look a little different. Have you contacted your email provider to see if the server names are correct? |

leart3,
you need to speak with the tech support of your ISP. they will be able to provide you with the name ofyour POP server (for inbound mail) and the SMTP server (outgoing). |

howste:
Yours does look different, and I noticed that your pop3 section for incoming email has just pop and the 3 is missing. Tanks anyway.
DVNT1:
I've tried that setup from worldnet website, and I've tried changing it around several times, but I can't seem to get it to work. Keep one thing in mind worldnet has a standalone email system that I use regularly, but I want to set up this outlook express suystem anyway. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
PresterJohn:
I've talked to them once or twice before, but most of the time you can't get anyone, so it's somewhat a hassle. But the Server entry for both the Pop3 and the SMTP Servers are suppose to be worldnetoh.com, but I haven't been able to get it to work. Plus the fact that each time I install it, exit and return, it's blank again. I'll keep checking. Thanks
