Well, silver mouse for me would be the MS IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. It's optical too, and can be gotten from Newegg for $29.00 with hardware (it's an OEM mouse, just D/L Intellipoint from MS)

I'm gonna answer your questions in reverse order.
1) Soyo makes a decent product, but I personally think they're a bit overpriced for what you get. I'd stick with MSI or Abit for solid, no frills motherboards that work exceptionally well.
2) Are you looking for a regular CD-ROM drive, CD-RW or DVD-ROM? Personally, it's not worth getting a regular CD-ROM drive when burners and DVD drives only cost a few bucks more. If you want a combo drive, I suggest Samsung's DVD/CD-RW combo. I don't know the model number offhand, but it's a 12x DVD-ROM and 32x burner that's received very high ratings by magazines and online sites. It costs about $130, which may seem pricey but it eliminates your need to buy a separate CD-RW drive and DVD-ROM.
Other than those, LG and Lite-On make excellent optical drives, especially for the money.
3) About your CPU question, what kind of system are you running now? If you have less than a 1 GHz processor, I'd say get the 2200+. They're not that expensive right now. If you have >1 GHz, you'd probably be well served to wait for the 2600+s. Also, by that time, the nForce2 motherboards should be readily available. Initial reviews have this thing outperforming high-end Pentium 4 systems. |

Any keyboard is good enough Optical mouse I would suggest logitech first. If I remember correctly they had a black and silvery/grey colored mouse...optical of course. But you might want all silver. Your best bet would be the MS mouse.
I have an Acer CD drive and its cheap and works fine. Its a bit older so its somewhat loud but its reall not bad at all (only loud on spinup). My Lite-On CDRW is just perfect.

I just built a comp with a Samsung 52x CD-ROM a couple days ago...very quiet and fast drive.
I personally have a Lite-on 16x/40x DVD-ROM...really fast, but not as quiet as the Samsung. Also, a quality drive.
I have a Pioneer Slot Loading 16x/40x DVD-ROM in the other computer - also nice. Slot loading is what makes this one rock, seems pretty mediocore on all other fronts.
I also have a long time grudge against Cyberdrive, since I bought a 24x CD-ROM from them years ago, and it constantly froze up my computer and wouldnt read half my CDs, and wouldnt read CD-Rs. Since there are so many alternatives and not much more of a price premium, Ive found no reason to try them again. If your getting just a CD-ROM, the Samsung is a good drive. If you get DVD or CD-RW, i recommend Lite-ons, or the slot loading Pioneer if you can find it and are willing to pay a few bucks more for ease of use.
As for CPU - Are you an overclocker? If not, get the 2200+ now. If you plan to crank the speed up, wait for the 2600+, since I hear they can clock a whole lot better. The 400+ difference wont translate into much, but the OC'ed difference between the two chips may be more tangible. |

I have a silver Belkin 5 button scroll optic. mouse that works great with 3 programable button's, pending on what you plan on using the puter for I would say go for the 2200+ as it is a good performer for what most people need and since your on a budget. |

The best silver keyboard is an IBM "buckling spring" keyboard... and... uhhhh... a can of sliver spray paint! |
