Memory Crashes System

Is it possible for a stick of memory to crash your system, i recently reinstalled UT2003 and wheras before it played fine with my existing memory, i recently upgraded and bought a new stick of 256, however when used in conjuction with my old memory the game crashes, i tried taking my old stick of 128 out and it worked fine so, am i right to assume that my old memory went bad??

cheers all

It could also be a compatibility problem.
Some motherboards have serious issues with what brand of ram you mix together.

Try using the same brand memory on all banks.

It really sounds like the two stick were incompatible. Sometimes that happens. Memory can be a funny thing. I always try to match my sticks. I only use Crucial in my machines and have never had a problem since switching to that brand. If you haven't tried Crucial, you're missing out. Check the link at the left top of this page. Good luck!

You're right Muno.

I forgot to look at my thumbs and index fingers to see which one made the 'L'.
