so you have four blank drives?

make a bootdisk on the comp your on, if you dont have windows 98, you can get one from http://www.bootdisk.com

first you should put two partions on your os drive, and install each os to a diff one.. or if not you may have issues

if you want to duel boot with 98/2k

install 98 first, 2k will detect it
do not use ntfs if you want to be able to use that drive with windows 98

2k and xp

install either first

98 and xp

not to be installed on the same partition as they both use the windows folder - install 98 first

98 and linux, 98 first

linux and 2k/xp, you may not be able to use ntfs
install the windows first.

example:

drive #
1: c:/ win98 | d:/ win 2k/xp (where os's will be)
2: e:/
3: f:/
4 g:/

linux:
drive#
1: c: windows 98/2k/xp | hda2 (<? not a linux guy) /linux
2: d:/
3: e:/
4: f:/

note in 2k and xp you can change all drive letters but c:/

Zidane,
Sounds like you have quite a bit going on there.

If you only have 98 then install that first.

Get your comp going again.

Have a look at some of the earlier threads in Opps and Aps at TIMO regarding Dual boot systems.

Good Luck ChrsR.

Make a 98 bootdisk then do a fdisk reformat on the partition you want to be your c drive then install the oldest system . you must install windows systems in the order they were released in. An example if you install xp first and then install 98 xp will be inacessable because 98 overwrites some files on the c drive. your boot. ini file is kept on your c drive so no matter where you install another os it always looks at the c drive first. If there is a college near you check their book store for the windows 2000 professional book, it must be the acedemic learning series, it contains a 120 day evaluation copy of windows 2000 pro. After 120 days if you are still learning just reinstall. Also 2000 server comes with a copy of server as well. I'm sure xp is the same. Some of the cdroms are mislabled though, the student cd rom is actually the os and the os is the student ( book on cd rom) also some of the newer ones are not bootable in which case you just surf the cd and make the four bootdisks.
