If you want to receive AOL email without actually logging in with AOL software, just download and install Netscape 7.0. It will retrieve AOL email from the servers very nicely
I use it to keep up with my Packer buddies who are all on AOL, as I don't like using the aol.com website to get my mail.
BTW - Shouldn't this be in Apps and Operating Systems?

I have a question, since when do you need an aol email address to communicate with friends on aol? I email friends on aol and I'm on earthlink, plain old pop3 account. |

I never said you needed a, aol email address.
I have a friend thats on aol, and doesn't like receiveing his mail

I have the AOL email addy from back in my AOL days, and it's piggybacked onto my brother's account. I don't want the aol.exe virus on my computer, so I use Netscape to access my AOL email |
