I've done this a few times but memory is shady. First of all I have IE6.0 with that security patch. I noticed that there is a Service Pack 1 for IE also. Does it include the patch or should I install both? What order or does it matter?

I have an Epox 8K7A+ and need to install Via4in1 and AMD miniport driver. There is some kind of order to this, again I forgot which is first.

I got the latest Nvidia drivers(40.72), Directx8.2 is being downloaded now. I have Win2K SP2, is SP3 worth it?

Did I forget anything?

Send a message via ICQ to JohnE.
I'd install Service Pack 1 for IE first then see if the security patch still shows up in the list at Windows Update.

I'd do it in this order: Win2K, Via4-in-1, Miniport, SP3 (I've had no problems with it and does have some improvements/bug fixes), DirectX, video drivers, IE 6.0 w/SP1, Windows update for the rest.

I would avoid the IE service pack. It adds a few nice problems to internet explorer. Such as the inability to view GIFs. Even the open browsers let you view gifs. Just another one of M$'s attempts at getting rid of something they don't own.
