"It looks like a few of the big retailers have sent out DMCA notices to a few of the consumer deal sites. So now they are claiming that sale prices are covered under the DMCA. I would like to know what part of the DMCA states that you can not share the price of merchandise. Also, why would they want to stop this free advertising?"
WTF does the DMCA have to do with posting sales info? I can't see how this would help any company. |

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving that many reatailers use to guage their profits/losses for the holiday seasom. They want to make $$, or be in the "black" as opposed to losing money or being in the "red". A Black Friday deal is simply some sort of deal that a company would offer to get you to purchase their product on that particular day. |

They fear the well educated and armed consumer. We're killing their profit margins, darnit!!
Of course, let's not forget last year. The really good deals did NOT show up on black Friday but a few weeks later. |

So, if I understand correctly. They don't want people to advertise (FREELY) about their deals that would put them in the black?
If that's the case, I ain't buying a d*mn thing from any of 'em. |

But with all theese online deals and coupon codes and such, I think the B/M store deals will eventually die. | |
