    Ques. about UL/DL speeds...

I just did a test on dslreports and it said my DL/UL speeds are...1244/117.

When I upload stuff to my website its no faster than 14kbps. I have never seen a DL for me higher than 195kbps. I have comcast as my ISP so I dont see what the deal is. I know they cap the service but I thought that 117 or whatever in that area would be the cap not 14kbps.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

Those speeds are in kilobits. The speeds you see reported on DLs/ULs are in bytes. 8 bits in a byte, so your speed in bytes is.

    155.5/14.625

So you've done better downstream than the test did, and its pretty accurate upstream.

128 kbps is a fairly common cap for cable modems.

have you tried uploading to other sites to see if its simply poor bandwidth on the server side?

The only way to get a better upload speed is to
    a) Get a faster plan if your ISP offers it
    b) Get a leased line of some sort (T1, etc) though that option is quite expensive.
    c) Change ISP's to one that will give oyu better speed upstream (ie DSL)

That would be a sight! One second you have blazing downloads and the next your switch is on fire.

    LOL. If only.
