sound card question
there's a little wire connects the PCI sound card to the CD Rom. Is that for sound if i want to use my CD rom to listen to music?

Yes, that for playing CDs via the analog CD input on your soundcard.
Some CD drives support digital audio playback. The audio data is sent to the computer digitally via the IDE cable. You don't need the analog CD audio cable if you do this. You can enable this from the control panel.
