How do i get Proper Air Flow within my case
I just put together my new system.. and was wondering about getting good and proper air flow occuring within my case..
as of the moment im using a harddrivvefan to bring in air
and i got my PSU and the rear case fan bringing air out...
and i have an exhaust fan attached beneath my video card to get rid of all that hot stuff...
also ive got a side panel fan attache bu im not sure if i should make it intake air or exhust the air out..
am i attaching too many fans??? should i add more intake near the front??
anybody got suggestions for this setup ive got going??A7N8X-E Deluxe Uber 1013 | 2500+ Mobile SI-97 | 6800GS 16/6 NV Silencer | Corsair TwinX2048 3200C2 | OCZ Modstream 450W

First thing.......No such thing as too many fans...

Second ....yes...if you have the room in the case, and the PS can handle it add some more intake, at the back of the case i'd try to make some more exhaust fans too, whether it be inverting the one you have as an intake or getting rid of it all together and replacing it with an exhaust.. Keep in mind..........one continuous flow front to back....in the front out the back....make it a good "vacuum" (sp)....have fun...

Bud,
Determine the air movement through the fan hole with that fan off.
Then help the movement by blowing the fan in the needed direction.
Ps. I used to live in your area before it was Mississauga.Last edited by earlthepearl; January 20th, 2003 at 07:15 PM.

Front to back air flow is what you want, but also think bottom to top as well. Some people put a blow-hole in the top of their case. This requires cutting a hole in the top of your case. If you do that, you need to take everything out of the case first. Chances are though, you don't need a blow-hole. Do you plan on doing any overclocking? As for the side fan, most people say to have it blowing fresh air in. A few people say that they have had better results with it blowing out. IMO, try both and record your temperatures, and see which works best in your case. Another consideration, is the air flow unobstructed? If you use round IDE and floppy cables, and tuck your power cables out of the way, it'll give you better air flow through your case.

You did eh earl??
krazy! where abouts did u live??? so where u move to now than??
ok idiggins.. well i got the round cables going and any excess power cables and whatnot i ahve tucked away.. so.. ive gotten that covered...
i'll check the temperataure settings on my computer with the different fan directions. and see what works best..
as of right now i dont think im gonna do a blow hole... maybe in thefuture when the computers gotten a tad bit older and stuff
overclocking as of the moment is a no no for me.. i just bought the chip and dont feel i really need to do any o/c'ing at the moment..A7N8X-E Deluxe Uber 1013 | 2500+ Mobile SI-97 | 6800GS 16/6 NV Silencer | Corsair TwinX2048 3200C2 | OCZ Modstream 450W

Have you used the "chkdsk" order to check error in the hard drive? You are right, you can't format the hard drive when such message occur, otherwise, you will loss all the data. You should recover...
