partition problems
i recently tried.. TRIED to install linux redhat 7.1 and it kept hanging and wouldnt finsh the installation,so i gace up and tried to install win98 on the old computer again,but it tells me formatting not supported on drive C so i enter fdisk to get rid of the partitions and i cant delete the partition it tells me cannot delete EXT DOS partiotn while a logical drive exsists so i try to delete the logical partition and it tells me no logical drive partitions present??? how can i get rid of this,i tried the HP recovery cd and it doesnt work,help!!!!!

Have you tried removing non dos partition?

never mind used the linux cd and deleted the partitions that way. after i finished i modifed the linux cd,it's now in a few peices
thanks anyway!... ps i deleted the non dos previously before trying the linux cd to delete the partitions..

Z. You dont how many times I've battled that problem in fdisk.
Absolute PITA!
I've found a great little ute that was part of NT3.51 called delpart.exe
You can get it by trying delpart.exe in google.
Kills everything, its great!
