| Laptops...cheap AND powerful??? Possible?
hehe...Laptops are ridiculous when it comes to pricing but their convenience when traveling is excellent. Im trying to look for a good laptop but I don't have lots of dough to throw down for it. But see, thats part of my problem. When Im gonna buy it I wanna be able to know that its got some POWER under that keyboard hehe....but the words power and affordable in the "I want a laptop" sentence just dont work.
But thats what you guys are here for! Maybe you can steer me in the right direction. Some suggestions or whatever insights you may have for the laptoping n00b here Thanks all. (oh and I noticed that nVidia has a 32mb card for laptops now...NICE!!!) |

Tekk,
I am too going to be replacing a laptop which was stolen. I had a Compaq which was full of problems. (HAHA to whoever stole it) .. anyway I am going to be purchsing a new one from this website. http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html
Looks exactly like my Compaq without Compaq software and the logo Good luck to you.

Tekk,
I have an Acer 202 Travelmate from work & it works great but no fancy 3D graphics
My sister just got the Acer 212T with a free carry case for about £750 (not bad IMHO).
Specs~
800 Mhz Celeron CPU
128 Meg RAM
10 Gig HD
14" TFT
IMO Acer make some really nice budget laptops.
I also think that those titanium mac's look real
Regards
Eddy

They sell some toshibas here in Finland for ~1350$. That's quite a nice price for Celeron800, TFT14,1", 128MB ram, 15GB hd and dvd.
The cheapest ones are ~1000$...
