Forgot my Notebook Password

I brought myself a COmpaq PResario NOtebook a month ago. Lately, I need to enter my ROM BIOS setup by I forgot my ADministrator PAssword, what I can only remember is my Power-On password. Is there a way or utility which would reset my password so that I cound enter my ROM BIOS?

ANother is, what could probably be wrong because - lately i am receiving an error:

Fixed DIsk PArameter or BIOS Error then a beep and I cant enter my windoze environment. I tried checking my hard disk for errors but it was just fine...What could be the error in here??

you should be able to hold reset and the power off for 5 seconds to do so, if not open it up and take out the little bios batterie or find the jupmer to short out and clear the bios.
It's pretty simple, tho on a laptop, it may prove quite difficult.

A bios flash might also reset it completely, and be easier than physically opening the laptop to get at the cmos battery.
