I have soft-modded a Sapphire 9500 non-pro on this machine:
Athlon t-bird 1gig
256 mb ddr 2100
ATI Sapphire 9500 np softmod 9800 no overclock
Epox EP-8K7A
WD 20GB ATA-100
DX9a
Catalyst 3.2
I was surprized to get 3980 on 3dmark 2003. Looking at what others are getting on much faster processors and memory.

I've just ordered XP2400 and 512mb DDR PC2100, soon to be followed by a Radeon 9500.... so I'll post my scores once it's all up and running!!  
BTW, I won't embarrass myself by posting (or even checking) my current score - with a P3 @650, 256mb PC133, and 32mb All-In-Wonder | |
