I have soft-modded a Sapphire 9500 non-pro on this machine:

Athlon t-bird 1gig
256 mb ddr 2100
ATI Sapphire 9500 np softmod 9800 no overclock
Epox EP-8K7A
WD 20GB ATA-100
DX9a
Catalyst 3.2

I was surprized to get 3980 on 3dmark 2003. Looking at what others are getting on much faster processors and memory.

well the 9500 is a DX9 card..that`s why you`re getting a hugh score.

I've just ordered XP2400 and 512mb DDR PC2100, soon to be followed by a Radeon 9500.... so I'll post my scores once it's all up and running!!

BTW, I won't embarrass myself by posting (or even checking) my current score - with a P3 @650, 256mb PC133, and 32mb All-In-Wonder

I just did an update with my stuff..

I put in an Athlon XP 2500+ and changed my memory to 1gb Crucial pc2700...

2001 ~ 9125
2003 ~ 1295

Question 1:
I am just wondering how did my scores go DOWN with the faster proc and more memory?

Question 2:
With what I have, what is stopping me from getting the high marks that others have?
