| Dual Display Graphic Card
I just installed an Appian Graphics Card (Typhoon AGP 64MB DDR Dual Video card) on a w2k sys. workstation x1000. Everything went well until I adjusted the resolution on the card properties( from 256 color to 16bit) as soon as I changed the resolution the screen went black and then blue (not a memory dump. It does it so quickly that I'm not able to read it) and then it reboots continuously. If you don't change the resolution everything seems fine on both monitors I can extend my desktop to monitor no. 2 as well. It is just when I mess with the settings that this happens. Is there anybody here who knows or has had this experience? Help

this is an obvious thing, but have you installed the drivers for the card? Had a friend have a problem getting dual monitors to work with higher numbers of colors....he didn't install the drivers for the vid card |

Yeah, I did, I don't think you can get 256 colors with out the drivers being installed (ie monocrome 16 colors) |

I'm no very happy with their support (it doesn't even list a support phone number) it sucks. I read several things that I might try, but nothing close enough to put the finger on the problem. I take it back I found their support phone number (still the website sucks)

no1_vern,
What do you mean by "Did you change the resolution for the adapter or the monitor?" I've never heard of a monitor resolution (do you mean monitor refresh rate?)

Sorry Jorge,
I meant settings. Still, When you changed the color quality, how did you do it? Did you right click on the desktop, select properties, settings, and change from there? Or did you got on to advanced(same page lower right hand box), select adapter, then change the properties from there?

no1_vern,
I right clicked on the desktop to properties and settings and changed from there. I will try it by going to advance and then adapter and then list all modes ( this is an xp sys not the one with the problem) . Have you seen this happened before? why should it matter where you change the settings? Any way if it works I owe you a big one. Thanks
