removing items

i have 98se when i press ctrl alt delete. i get a list of running programs. how do i remove them so they dont run unless i want them to?

firt look to see what is in your startup folder in programs. Also try
start>run>msconfig>startup tab

Do exactly what MDS said.
1. Click on the start button
2. Point your mouse to the Run
3. Type in msconfig
4. hit enter

then click the start up tab
See whats running and take what you want out that you don't want in start up.

My favorite is startup cop been using it for free a freeware. It is a easy way to stop programs from starting up. type in startup cop in google to find a download site

Before you "kill" some of those running proceses you might want to go to this site Startup Program and Executable Listing and see if what your stopping to run is in fact needed.
