WMP9 going to the dogs

Ok, I've been an avid supporter of Windows Media Player since I tried wmp8 with XP. 9 just got better and better till its final release when it hit what I guess is its high, because they just started doing something I don't like!

I get a new Cat Stevens CD and click "Find Album Info" and I'm greeted with a search dialog! What the heck!?! Ok so I pop in cat stevens, and it comes back with 46 albums with no pics, discriptions or anything! I mean before you just select what you want names for and wham! You got pretty acurate results (only had driver the pc games soundtrack mislabeld outa 1400 songs). This new thing is annoying! Any one know whats up??? I mean I'm searching for it cause I don't know the album name!

I mean this is sad! Thats one of the main reasons I loved it so much. No more mislables!

If I have to put in all the info whats the point of doing a search for it???

never been a big fan of WMP and recent versions just seem to have more bloated code added to bloated code.

still using winamp 2.8 and i identifies every disc i put in there...even my cat stevens ones (greatest hits)

oy, I've always hated winamp. Media player works perfect at about 8% cpu time. It runs great, sounds great, and loads everything quick while organizing playlists amazingly well. I tried winamp3 I think (the latest one), and the first time gave up cause I couldn't organize stuff easily. The second time I was going to try it for a week to see why everyone seemed to love it so much, but when I installed it my computer stopped recognizing its cd-roms till I removed winamp and restarted my PC. Seriously they just dissapeard...

I love WM9, but this might make me find an alternative (hopefully not winamp)

ok, I figured it out. It's his greatest hits. You have to type in the artist name and then select the album and then it gives info on it. Probably the search feature was to much of a strain on there system. I dunno, I loved it!

I hope this isn't a permanent thing
