    Free apps to merge photos

Are there any freeware programs that allow you to merge photos. e.g. make take two shots side by side then stitch them together on the computer.

    Irfanview will do that.

After you have it installed, just start it up, then goto Image and Create Panorama Image.

Just tried it but for some reason it looks like the images are just put side by side. Is there a way to make the panorama seemless.

Kuasimodem: The Albatross Designs Webpanorama looks like it might work.

crouse: I have GIMP(windows version) installed. How could I make a panorama in gimp? How hard would it be to do.

    Thanks

Albatross Designs Webpanorama works great but for some reason I can't view the file with IE(it save a copy in HTML). Its in JAVA. Are there any other progs that can make them in flash or something readable on any system without needing to download anything extra(or the viewers end). Thanks.

I used to recommend that people just download the free trial of ArcSoft's panorama maker, however, now I'd say don't install it whatever you do. It writes DRM (C-Dilla) to your master boot record, a place that no third party software has any business writing.

All the "free" ones I tried did a poor job of blending, and all the demo ones watermarked or otherwise reduced the image quality severely...

An excellent, detailed review of all these programs is availible here:
