| X Dreamer Case Temp Display
I just purchased an X Dreamer Case w/built in backlit temp display. I can see how the back lighting works. Does anyone know how the temp indicator works? It has a flat probe that I stick to something. How would I connect it to a P-4?

I just got mine back. Gave it to a guy at work for him to bore out the holes for the fans. Comes with perforations that are really kind of small and I figured they would disrupt the airflow in the case a lot.
So anywhoos, now they are wide-freaking open. Gonna put in 2 Sunon 50CFM 80mm(s) in the back, and 2 in the front as well as 2 80mm Blue LED fans ( there is 4 fan mounts in the front - woohoo! )
One thing I noticed is the PS that came with it seems kind of lame. Yes, it is a 350watter, but it is very lightweight, and I doubt it will do well in an overclocking situation. For now it will do, I'm just going to throw my old KR7A-133 and non-overclocked XP1900+ in there. But eventually I'll be upgrading that power supply.
Cool looking case though.
Guess I'll get around to mounting that probe myself soon. We'll see what's involved then.

Let us know how you did it.

First, it took me some research to figure out what the PROBE actually was. I thought it was some wires that got spliced into somewhere. But apparently, I think I can slip the probe between the P4 CPU and the heatsink.
I bought the case for a computer I'm building my son for his birthday. It seems to be sturdy enough. He won't be clocking the thing, so the power supply will be adequate.
I don't know about running a case wide open. Most computers I've had did OK with it. But I've also built some that needed the case covers on. Without the cover, the venturi got affected.
Anyway, I got the case for $55 at a computer show. It seems to be a good value for the money. |

Once I took the front bezel off, I could see the perforations would block ar somewhat.
When I meant wide open, I meant the places where the fans mount to, only. Instead of a perforations there is 80mm wide open holes.
I'll defintely have the sides on and all. Just the air will flow through the fans much more freely.
Think I got mine for right around that ( $$ ) online, perhaps $57.99. Got the cobalt blue one.
Agreed, definitely a good value. |
