Outlook calendar sharing w/o Exchange?

Possible?

Well certainly seems to be with Alt's version of Groupware for Mdeamon. Thing is it needs to be accessable via a web interface.
Im looking at finding some way of sharing a group calendar for fellow engi's at work. ATM I use a phpbb forum to post work items and then get everyone to move the topic into an arcive forum when jobs are complete. What i would like to do is to have some intergration with outlook. Bascially I guess everything I require is what exchange will do, shame exchange is just stupidly costly.
Ive looked at ticketing and helpdesk software but they all seem to be lacking that something.

What help desk software do you use/recommend. Is there a suitable outlook sharing solutions without exchange or Alt's groupware?

Send a message via AIM to Siliconjunkie
There is a group somewhere developing an open source version of Exchange. I believe they are in Australia. I will look around and see what I can find and post it.

Isn't there something out there now?

I am a frustrated IT Domain Admin, because our domain is not large enough to justify an exchange server (we outsource our email). Howerver, we all use MS Outlook and Act 5.0. Our ongoing issue is trying to provide a network calander we can all share, and that we can use with Outlook Clienr or Act to generate our fax lists when we need to send a fax to a list.
But still the most important issue is having a good customizable calander that everyone on the network can share.

Please let me hear from you,
John
