Is it advisable for me to install NTFS or FAT 32 for Windows 2000 Advance Server? Is it true that if I use NTFS,I will not be able to edit system files from the MSDOS? |

I'd go w/ NTFS.
1. More secure than FAT
2. Journaling, no more "SCANDISK" startups.
3. You won't be able to boot w/ just a normal DOS bootdisk and access the system files, but you will be able to use a DOS prompt from within 2K. |

Also, NTFS take away the 36 Gigabyte Limit that fat32 imposes. |

Another option is to start from a Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Startup disk and use the Format tool included on the disk
| I have been using the full amount of hard drives larger than 32 gig. with W2k and WinXP using FAT 32 for years. |

EvilRick, thanks for posting that KB article. I have never been able to format a drive larger than 32 GB with Fat32. |

NTFS has some additional sharing and security features. Files are not that easily fragmented as well. |
