| wireless problem
ok, im connected to the internet wirelessly and i was woundering about my game console here. so i searched on the net and found that it can go wireless but it needs the WET11 ethernet bridge. so i bought it and realized that u cant just plug it in and be online. well i was woundering how excactly do i connect this and set it up to the wireless network i got going on over here.  |

question what gaming console? are you sharing off broadband? i dont think they make a wireless card for consoles. i might be wrong tho |

lol cool, well anyway, its for the xbox and gamecube. well i got a pci adapter in my pc and im running windows XP. and also im connecting to broudband. i got a WET11 ethernet bridge that i want to connect to my wireless network. i called the company that sells the bridge and she was a women that hardly spoke english and half of the time i was saying WHAT! WHAT! constaly so im turning to diffrent resorces. so i hope i my question right here. if it would be better for us to im each other you can.

its not a card you connect to the console it is a ethernet bridge that connects to the back and it well make ne thing connect to the wireless network like a printer, game console, and laptop. it has that connection you know that come from your cable modem that goes to that port i forgot what it is called but its not usb. |

okay so your trying to play xbox online.... with the wireless internet?
the xbox does not have a wireless card built in, and i dont believe they make one for the xbox.
now reading your post over are you trying to put a wireless card on the winxp box and then connet the xbox to the winxp to get internet?
sorry i think im alittle confused. |

that is the link that goes to the product im talking about. that device hooks to the xbox. i read the wireless xbox thing on that page but it still does not work. when i called it had to deal with ip addresses and mess. |

i read that but theres is a problem with it. do i connect it to the pc and configure it frist or do i connect to the xbox. i tryed put for some reason when i connect it to my pc it wont browse the web. the things i was haveing trouble was the SSID, IP address, and the point of were to configure it and do i use a PCI card from my pc to connect it. im so confused were this thing wants to connect but it seems u connect it through the ip address and u type it up in the address bar and it well find it. and u configure it there but it still doen not work. |

okay i see what your trying to do now.
here is your problem
to have a wireless connection you have to have two things. a sender and a reciever.
you have two items for a wireless network to work properly.
right now you only have the sender. you need the item to recieve the communication.
a normal setup of a hard wire lan
modem-router-pc-pc-pc
a wireless network is different
modem-wireless router-pc -wireless pc

do you have an access point or wireless router? without an accesspoint or wirless router you will not get the SSID or an IP address.

I GOT MAN, IT works!!!!! oh ooo. thanks man its all because of you. i got it connected. so now can i disconnec this thing if your still thereand connect it to the xbox or gamecube |
