| Taking My Old PC Apart
I decided to take apart my old P1 computer and put it back together cuz I was bored.
I took out the motherboard and I found a few slots that resemble PCI, but they're longer and can't fit a PCI card, anyone know what they're called? Just curious.
Here's the specs for this PC :
Intel Pentium 166MHz w/ MMX
Some crappy Intel motherboard
46MB EDO Memory
2.1GB Seagate Hard Drive
S3 Trio 64 integrated video w/ 2MB EDO RAM
Hehe... |

Are you talking about the 8/16 bit ISA slots used for legacy add on cards? If so these used to be the one and only slot built into pc's until PCI came along. |

If they're behind a 16-bit ISA slot it could be VESA a.k.a. VLB. If not, they could be EISA (Enhanced ISA).
Have Fun! |

Hmm, they're are 3 of these slots, and 3 PCI slots...
I'm thinking it's a type of ISA? |

Normally the PCI slots are white and the ISA are blackish. If it is above the PCI slots and smaller/shorter and brown that is an AGP slot.
I would suspect since you have PCI in your machine that what you are talking about is EISA, Enhanced Industry Standard Architecture.

They're either ISA or EISA. |
