Help With NTFS Permissions

How can I reset ALL the permissions under the security tab on an entire drive?

Somewhere somehow, things got ALL screwed up. I have MULTIPLE folders within folders and files in all those folders. I want to reset all the permission to ALL files and folders. At this time I want "everyone" to have "full control" on all file and folders and a particular drive.

What do I do?

Just eliminate everything but the "Default share". This should put you back to "the way it was before".

Get there by how GZ3 said, right-click, 'Sharing and security', 'Sharing' tab.

Here is what I am looking at.

When I go to the properties of the c: drive this is what I get:

Now, when I go to the security tab, this is what I get:

Now, I go to the advanced button at the bottom and this is what I get:

Do I check the little box at the bottom of this window so that it resets all the folders and files?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Scratch that. No leave it unchecked.

I'm sorry. The answer is YES. This will transfer the permissions to all subfolders.

Any subfolders under drive C will be shared if you check the box.
**warning** Anyone can access any folder on your HD if they get access to your computer either directly or remotely

I recomend that you take the time to do each folder that only you want to access yourself with an administrative share. I do not recomend you ever share your HD. It takes some extra work but it is worth it if you share your computer.
