    New Worm spreading

    'Good' worm hits computers "

"The new so-called good worm, dubbed "Welchia" or "Nachi," is similar to Blaster, but it purports to patch the hole Blaster exploited to enter into computers in the first place and tries to clean up after Blaster if the computer is infected with it."

Glinda asks Welchia 'Are you a good worm or a bad worm?' Welchia says that she is not a worm at all, announcing that worms are 'mean and ugly'. Glinda states that only bad worms are ugly.

But you killed the wicked worm of the west!

That was my intial thought as well. And they are just saying its slowing down traffic or something as a CMA situation so it doesn't come back onto them.

    "A good worm... lol"

Worms were actually intentionally made to be good, like this worm that fixes what the blaster destroyed.

lol yea microsoft should have made this one. they release a patch and then everyone points and screams at them when they get blaster. well guess what buddy if you had patched you wouldn't have a problem. think of it as manditory patching

Good, bad, they all break their neck on my Linux firewall.

It was a bit more worrying at work, we are well protected behind a good firewall, but a few of our users travel with laptops, most unpatched since they were gone before the worms arrived. At least if they catch the good one, we won't have to worry about it.
