    COMPUTING ESSENTIALS...

    This sort of includes a lot of forum areas, so I'm just putting it in General Tech Discussion.

    Let's post lists of some general software/software packages that you'd want installed on your system for the first time... We're not creating some sort of huge master list, just what YOU would like...

    Put stuff into the following categories;

    GENERAL PRODUCTIVITY
    GAMES
    UTILITIES

    My mind is narrow at the moment (), so feel free to add more categories as you see fit.

    When you say "for the first time" do you mean "on a fresh machine" or software that you wish you had?

    hehe, shahani is a rich man. The software you list costs about $2k. That's about twice what my W2K box costs.

    BTW, Norton is something I would like to stay at least 1 mile away from my boxes :0)

    What does WinACE do that WinZiIP doesnt?

    I only use winace, for I think it supports more file extensions, like .ace, .zip, .arj and so on and so on.

    Dunno if winzip supports as many as winace, but I like winace better, so...
