Im running a dual boot me/xp o.s setup.
Why, I still prefer Win me over xp for most of the things that I do.
Most of my customers are still using me, and for the few that are using xp, I can relate better doing phone support with it in front of me.
At one point I had a triple boot with 98se,me, and xp, but dropped 98 for lack of intrest.
My setup with 177gb of hd space has a seperate folder for all of the xp related apps, and all of the me apps are isolated as well, that way removing one or the other does not affect functionality.
Works very well for me, and I can also cross test compatibility issues.

i thought that is what they have in the arcade games; 2 cpu's, mount for devastating performance, focusly on gamings.

I have 98 - 2K.
Some software doesn't run in 2K for me.
2K hates my Officejet but 98 likes it.
Can switch to 98 to help here in support.

I have both Windows XP Professional and Linux (Redhat) installed on my machine. I have Linux to just learn and 'play around' with it, but also to do the usual stuff as surfing the web, checking e-mails, listen to music. And Windows I use for the rest such as playing games. I dont see though the advantages of having both Windows ME and Windows XP, and personally I would recommend you to stay away from Windows ME. If you use it for playing DOS Games, get Windows 98 instead

If anyone is intrested, here is a link to a mutli booting how to: http://www.flickerdown.com/stewks/ar...p?articleId=27
For all that are so down on win me, I dont get it, its no better or worse than any other o.s, all have their share of short commings.
Having worked on thousands of systems over the last 10+ years, and having been involved with windows o.s since win 95 beta, Ive seen em all.
And from my hands on experience, I would still reccomend win me over 98 and 98se |
