3DMark03 Score
Alright, I just gotta 1017 on the test with a Radeon 9100 128Mb video card and 512Mb SDRam. I also have XP Pro, and a P4 1500MHz processor. The card is slightly overclocked, and I would overclock it more, but I cant keep it cool enough. Any sugguestions to improve that abysmal score without overclocking would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.Last edited by The Real Bingo; October 25th, 2003 at 11:16 AM.

I think your almost at your max, because of the following:
1: You have a dated cpu and a budget videocard, this combination never ends in high scores.
2: Sdram is getting dated too, this is also hindering yer performance.
I benched my rig just now, and got a nice score, but as you can see, I use an XP1800 @ default.
My suggestion would be, to get yourself a Radeon 9500 or 9600, they can be had for a very nice price.
But on the other hand, if all the games you play run just fine, and you can do with the card what ya want to do, why upgrade?? Just because a benchmark program gives you a score you think is too low??
I wouldn't go that far, but to each his own ofcourse.
But with that setup, I'd say your almost running max.
What was your 2001SE score??

Ok, thank you. Hopefully for Christmas I'll try to build a rig of my own. Nothing too flashy, but something that is upgradeable for the future. I guess what I have now will hafta do.

I have an important question
How much better is a 9600 128mb than a 9100 128mb? Twice as much? Less? more?

it's about Ti4200 performance but with directx9 support.

Well Id say that thats a pretty nice budget card, a lot better than my 32mb tnt2. What about the 9200?

The 9200 is crap!!
Even a Geforce3 Ti200 will outperform it in 3dmark2001.
Best to get the Ti4200 or the Radeon 9500/9600 for budget card.
The 9200 is about the same performance as the FX52002 x Opteron 4280 2.8Ghz, Asus KCMA-D8, 32GB DDR3 1600, Asus 6950 DCII 1GB 2 x M4 64GB SATA600, Caviar Black 640GB, Seagate 1TB, 27"syncmaster

I use a radeon 9600 pro 128
athlon xp 2500 overclocked to 3200 xp
512 ddr 2700 mem
MSI K7N2 Delta nForce 2 Chipset MOBO
13 gig maxter 7200
overclock 9600 to 450/348
ran 3800 on 3d mark 2003
ran 12300 on 3d mark 2001 SE
ran 3900 on PC Mark 2004
9600 pro 128 runs great...good card for the price...depends of mobo also. Just put in the MSI, added alot of performance.
