Ok did I just get ripped off?
I got a UMAX pc that was supposed to be a 650mhz, instead it was 350mhz
So for $50 total i got:
Amd 350mz CPU
64MB Ram
6GB HD
ATI 8MB graphics card
36xCD Rom
Floppy ( of course)
56k modem
windows ME installed w/ office
and it came with a CTX 19" CRT Monitor & Keyboard/Mouse
I didnt get the 650MHZ. but was this still a deal?, I just wanted a pc for counter-strike...

GOD, the Monitor alone is worth more than $100, Jesus i'd say you got a STEAL!

Are you sure it wasn't advertised as "up to 650Mhz"?. At any rate, if you only paid $50 for the system, IMO that's not a bad deal. Nice find!

That's the one you asked about? K6-650 and 16" monitor? It didn't sound right but for $50 you got yourself some goodies.

What are you people smoking? That system isn't worth *deleted*
Let me show you something:
AMD DUron 1.4 GHz: $36
Biostar M7NCD nForce2 Motherboard: $51
Kingston 256 meg PC2100: $42
Western Digital 20 gig: $56
EVGA GF4 MX440 w/ 64 meg of RAM: $47
52x MSI CD Burner: $33
Floppy: $10
Modem: $15
Case: $40
Total: $330
All prices from NewEgg.com
Now you could've used Windows XP Home (FAR superior to Windows ME) for $90 (assuming you bothered to pay for it) and a free Office suite for free. (or you could've copied that too):
Your total MINUS software is $20 LESS than you paid for MUCH MUCH Better hardware.
Your total PLUS software is still a much better deal considering the superiority of XP over ME.
In a nutshell, you just got taken.

Oops. I DID forget the monitor / keyboard, and mouse. Those should be factored in, and they do balance out somewhat--but I bet you anything that monitor is a refurb. As for the keyboard / mouse, wel, such things are very cheap.
I stand by my analysis. Even if we factor in another $150 for a monitor, you still come out better."A ship in the harbor is safe--but that's not what ships were made for."

there is no such thing as a k6-650...if they printed that it was a typo.
It may be a k6-2 350....if it is then you can get a k6-2 550 to go in it for less than $20
If you can figure out the motherboard model we can tell you if you can upgrade it.
Counterstrike?? hmm. Better get some more ram first off."Even a fool is thought to be wise if he is silent"

For $50 you got a good deal. Parts alone are worth that. 'Specially the 19" monitor, refurb or not.
Dputiger, you're telling him he should spend $420 to get a machine . . . well Duh! Of course if he goes out and spends money on a new machine, he's going to get something better.
No, you didn't.Orginally posted by Dputiger

Themz both good dealz. $50, heck yeah that's a steal. And that $180 is a jewel, too.
That is a bummer you were expecting 650Mhz and got 350Mhz, but still a great buy.
