| clonecd AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
hi guys,
I'm having a problem on CLONECD. The problem is, it won't "Read to image file", "write from imagefile" and "copy cd" The games i want to backup are The sims hot date, AVP2 and Harry Potter, but either of them will do anything, The 2 buffer bars at the bottom are always on 0% and the progress bar is always on 0%. However, i can see the drives working (trying to do something!)I have used Clony to get the burning options to it, which are manualy.
I have done Toca2 easily on it via clony without any probs. So why don't these games work??
-My cd writer is a LITE-ONE 24X10X40 Burnproof.
-I'm running Windows XP home edition
-I have the latest Clonecd and Clony
-My cd burner and cd driver are both sharing the secondary ide port, while the hard drive is on its own on the primary ide port.
I don't understand whats wrong!!
is there something i have to enable or something, change the buffer size?... etc...
ur help will be greatly apprechiated!
Thanx

I've found that there are some CD-ROMs which CloneCD cannot even copy. The games you have listed are all newer games, perhaps the CD Protection isn't allowing you to burn them.
Check the LOG file when you are trying to copy a CD and see what errors are showing up.
To access the LOG file go to TOOLS >> Log. If the CDs are protected with a protection which CloneCD cannot bypass then you will see "error reading from CD" or something like that. |

i don't think its that m8 because ive seen loads of ppl who have copied these games easily using clonecd.
Also, ive tried using the cdrw(liteon24x10x40) to copy to an image then to a cd, but it still wont work. |

From what I've learned on here you should put the cdrom as slave to hdd and burner to master on secondary. Don't know if that will fix your problems though. I just got mine hooked up and copied 3 cds 1 music and 2 data and no problems yet
swampy. |

i've always had 100% sucess with clone CD "my fav. backup progie" I think the harry Potter one is not "back-up :able:" it has the new cd protection. Try just to copy a image first or give Nero 5.5 a try. |

to help narrow down problems, i suggest you try a test copy of an older game or music cd and see if they copy. If so, then its not your hardware config that is ~~using the problem. This will also eliminate any software configuration problems from teh possibilities list. |

i tested toca2 on clonecd and it worked fine!
Could it just be that:
Harry potter
Hot date
Avp2
have all new versions of a cd protection, so it cant copy.
wouldn't it lower ur harddrive performance if u put ur cdrom on the same ide?? i thought it would.... |

the games above mentioned i have working ''backups'' of but they are not copied disk to disk the are done another way. these games are SAFEDISK games and therefore , contain 'bad sectors' or similar technology i am not 100% sure therefore a normal cd-writer will not copy the disk as it sees parts of the disk as unreadable. |

hmm, what version of clony are you using, and how are your IDE drives configured?
also, make sure your cd burner can burn in DAO-96 mode |
