Car stereo "kick = dim"

No-dont need a cap for a head unit. Be the first I heard of that did. And Ive installed tons of sound systems both car and home audio. I shoulda run into one that needed it by now-LOL. At 25 to 30 some watts avg x4 why would you need it.

I turned on the headlights and dash lights at night time, and turned the radio up darn loud. The lights on the deck were sure dimming, and I could barely take the noise, but the headlights and dashlights stayed steady.

Seems okay.

BTW: When I have my headlights on, and I switch on the AC, they dim a little bit, and stay dim. Just BARELY dimmer, to where you can only tell the difference at the moment you hit the AC button. Is this normal or a sign of a dieng arternator?

The omly reason you wire it to the fuse box is to 1) protect the unit and 2) pick up AM radio stations. You can get a filter from autozone for this problem. Not sure on the model number.
