Did you pay for the copy or did it come with your computer when you bought it. I think I remeber e-mailing em once and if you didnt provide the info of your copy like a Key or something they ignored you. Anyways... have you tried re-installing it? The one time that I ever got a crazy error a resintall fixed it.

Try vlc instead -> www.videolan.org
If that works, there's something wrong with your powerdvd installation.

Hi,
Don't know if you ever fixed this problem, but I've just had the same thing start happening to me,
After trawling the web I think I've found the answer. It seems to be a problem with the FX5600 chipset, in that the video acceleration is not compatible with older versions of PowerDVD.

FFFF = FAILURE, FAILURE, FAILURE, FAILURE
One day it works, next day it failed.
Why?

I had the same problem a few years back and it was related to my NVIDIA drivers. I agree with Phenious about what version of PowerDVD you're running. I started with a version that came with a DVD drive I bought. I liked the program so much, that I upgraded online to a newer version and was provided with a key. I've done one other upgrade since then, and found them to be very fast in answering any questions I had.

PowerDVD Error
I tried to play "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and got this error message: 8903000F.
My computer has an AMD-XP 2900+ with 1GB RAM.
Why doesn't Power DVD play the DVD ?
A frustrated user.

PowerDVD Error Code FFFFFFFF
I run Win XP Pro, I have an old version of PowerDVD, ver 4.0, I got the Error Code FFFFFFFF. From reading the above posts, I thought it was the "Hardware Acceleration". It needs to be moved off of "Full". To do that: Right click the Desktop, and choose, Properties, then, Settings, then, Advanced, then, Troubleshoot, At "Hardware Acceleration", move the "Pointer" to the third mark from the LEFT. OK yourself back out. After doing this, my PowerDVD worked great. BUT, I have another DVD player, "InterVideo Win DVD for Vaio" that would NOT work, when the Hardware Acceleration was moved off of the FULL mark. So now, when I want to use PowerDVD, I move the Hardware Acceleration marker to the third mark from the left, and when I want to use InterVideo, I move the Hard Acceleration back to FULL. I have another program, "Screen Virtuoso Pro", that will not work unless the Hard. Acceleration is moved off of Full, and put on the third mark from the left.
