XP processes which are important
I have had problems with a few games not wanting to run and the reason windows gives me is because of my ATI graphics card. I shut down a few processes to match a friends (about 20 total running) and the game that would not load began to work. Is there a site or link that lists what each process does or needs to be running with XP pro? I am dead set that one of the shut down processes was interfering with my ATI drivers (most up to date from ATI's site).
Thanks in advance

how fast is your cpu and which video card do you have. even though I have a intel 2.53ghz and an ati 9800 pro the only game I have has a problem so far was call of duty but they had an update on there site and it is now included in the newest drivers.

December 26th, 2003, 01:54 AM #5I have P4 2.6 800 FSB and an ATI 9100 pro graphics card. I know my drivers are current and the card is good but after shutting down some processes I could play at least one of the games I could not load previously. I think that a process is interferring with a driver, at least this is what my computer savy friend told me it was. I just need a site that says at minimum XP pro needs the following to run.Originally posted by c44151
