Uh,...excuse me. But what the heck is a DarciMark?
Normally it's not such a surprise when I don't know what something is...maybe 'cause I'm not all that smart... But, when my buddy Google doesn't even know what something is...then we got trouble. |

| BurningCat: Yeah, I'd recommend 3DMark2001, just because that's what most other folks use. That way you can compare your scores with other peoples' results! Superguybob: One thing nobody seems to have recommended (unless I missed it) is your video card driver...if you don't already have it, you might try the latest available driver from ATI. Might help a bit. |

Yeah, I have the latest drivers from ATI...
MadOnion has a new driver for ATI, but its beta (that doesnt really worry me though...) , but when I click on the link to download it, it tells me I dont have permission to DL from that server...
But I checked www.ati.com, and I have the newest installed...
I ran the Radeon Tweaker, and it improved my Hardware T/L score (from 2800 to 2900 marks), but when I switched back to the PIII optimization, it made absolutly no changes...

Ahh... almost forgot to ask something...
What clock speed setting should I have set in Radeon Tweaker? The default is like 156, and it says that most cards should operate fine under 196 or so... Any suggestions? |

It's all trial and error. Most cards react differently to overclocking. Try 196. If you don't have any probs such as tearing, crashing, or strange artifacts showing up then go up higher. Once you do reach the point where it starts to have problems, back it down about 5 -10 points to where it runs well. |

time for some classic, timeless advice....
who care about benchmarks? do your GAMES and other programs run to a level that you are satisfied with? if so, great! if not, then it's time to tweak, or even upgrade or whatever.... |

You could also light fires with kindling and little matches. Thats no fun. I go for gas and rockets! It's the only way!
I'd suggest heading over to http://www.tweak3d.net and reading some of their tweaking articles. They have some great guides! |
