| How else can I raise my 3Dmark2000 score?
Ok, I ran 3dMark2000, and published my results... When I compared them with someone elses (with the same exact settings, but I have 256 more ram), my scores were higher in all of the classes, except fot the High Polygon Count tests (where I was EXTREMELY lower)... What would cause this? Theres one thing im a little confused on, and thats the Graphics Chipset: Generic VGA (and just in case you were wondering, I have the newest drivers from ATI). Just tell me what ya think, and if theres any questions, post em here and Ill answer them...
CPU Intel Pentium 4 1494 Mhz
3D Accelerator RADEON 7200/RADEON VE
Graphics Chipset Generic VGA

when choosing the settings for cpu optimization, you have pentium III set. do you have an option for D3D Hardware T&L? if so, this should boost that section and maybe your whole score by a whole lot. That's the only advice i can offer you... |

Believe it or not, I got much higher scores with the PIII setting over the Hardware T/L setting... Cant explain why, but I did (by about 250 points)
Yes, I have the Radeon 7200.... |

Not knowing what mobo you have, the BIOS should be set for highest, yet stable performance. Including the memory timings, AGP - video settings, and CPU settings. If it's possible, try overclocking the video card. There may be a utility available to do so. Another thing to do is defrag the HDD before running the test and make sure there are no unnecessary programs running in the background. |

probably because your p4 is more powerful then a radeon 7200's T&L engine i guess...
something else that's bothering me is how you got faster speeds with 8 lights in the high polygon test then you did with 1 light....should be the oposite of that. |

Falcom- I thought that was pretty wierd too...
Rooster- Just FYI, I have a Soyo P4IS2 (i845 chipset)... Exactly how do you over clock a vid card? I was gonna start a forum of how to overclock it... (and my cpu too...) |

To overclock the Radeon, you will need this small program called Radeon Tweaker. You can also use PowerStrip. As for OC'ing the CPU, I belive all you can really do with the P4 is to increase the FSB setting in the BIOS. |

Ok, I downloaded Tweaker, but cant do anything till tomorrow (way too tired right now, dont want to screw anything up tonight)...
Anyways, I found a pretty good guide to 3DMark performance, that had some BIOS tips in it... Ill try that tomorrow too, and let ya know what the results are... |
