| How to retrieve registry no.
How to retrieve my win.98 registry number
need to install it on my second machine and don`t know how to get to it,(steps)and naturally
can`t find it anywhere in the mess,it worries me,i`m getting so absent-minded,i mean sometimes in the middle of a sentence I ............ |

just search the registry for it... it's buried in there... |

R-click "My Computer"/ properties & it should show there. |

no that will only show the product id. i think he means the actual registration number you have to type in when you install 98. that requries a different number. |

Open regedit.
Open this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion
Its on the right hand side, under the value "ProductKey" |

You might want to tty this Belarc Advisor It lists a ton of information about your machine. Including registration #'s. The program displays the info on your machine only. The info is not transmitted over the web or any where else.

crystaldragon -- Belarc is nice, especially when used in conjunction with SiSoft Sandra. But that's the registration number and he's looking for the product key.
