    Photoshop Action Scripting

Ok I have been reading up on action scripts trying to figure out how to make my life easy but I haven’t been able to make or record any that do what I need. I have about 400 pictures from the soccer team of my college and I was asked to make a nice video of em with music and stuff. I need to resize just about every one of them to fit in the 720*480 resolution of the DVD but I need to keep the ratios/proportions correct so they don’t look bad. Any ideas? Thanks!

Close, I saw a reference to Thumbs+ Ill try. The main thing that is stopping me is dealing with different sized images and getting them to fit within the above dimensions while retaining the right proportions Ill keep cracking though and any other suggestions would be great! Thanks Puk!

Hey phenious, if you do use Thumbs, here's a quick 'n dirty 'how-to' for batch processing to resize files. I've been meaning to do this for someone else, so this was just an excuse to get it done.

Well that looks easy enough to do and ill download Thumbs when I get home. The main thing I didnt see in the photos is that if has the ability to "Shink the photo untill it is =< 720*480. Some photos will need a different size then others. Can it do that? Or will it just make em all that resolution? I guess Ill find out when I try it Thanks for the quick guides and replies guys!

It will shrink the image down to your specified size. The way I showed setting up the batch process, it will shrink the file until BOTH width and height reach your specified size. It will do this and retain the aspect ratio. That means possibly some of the files will end up with a width less than 720 or a height less than 480. These files will have a blackspace border filling that unused area. If you don't want that blackspace, then notice in my image #5 there is a checkbox for "autocrop after resize". Just check that box and the image will be trimmed of the black fill and then will be whatever size they rightfully should be.

    make sense?

    I used IrfanView 3.90
It took me 5 min to figure it out, and I converted 200 images to 800x600, created Thumbnails, AND it made the HTML file for ya. I now like this program alot! I really didnt want to change all those in photoshop... Since now I have only about 550 more to do lol.
