| PhotoShop 7 displayed images upside down in Liquify filter
Hello all!
We have a number of computers running Windows 98SE and PhotoShop 7.0.1. When the Liquify filter is started, the original image is flipped. When the liquify tools are used, they act as if the image is in the correct orientation.
This same issue does not appear to happen on other computers, mostly Win2000.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thank you in advance. |

This is an odd problem and I'm sorry I don't have an answer for ya. But I'll check my sources and see if anyone else has encountered this issue.
In the meantime the first thing to try is to delete Photoshop's preferences file. With PS 7 on Win2000 you'll find it at this location: Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings\
In that folder will be a file named Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Prefs. Delete it (when Photoshop is NOT running).
That may very well fix your problem.
If that doesn't work you might try uninstalling and then reinstalling Photoshop. |

Thank you very much OutPatient. I will try what you said and get back with you on the results. In the mean time I appreciate any other assistance you can muster up. |

I tried what you said, both deleting the prefs file and completely uninstalling and reinstalling. Neither seemed to have any effect.
Though I probably don't know what I'm doing, I attached 3 screenshot images in the "Additional Options" section of this thread. Please let me know if you can't get them.
Pic1.jpg - Image before liquifying.
Pic2.jpg - Image being liquified. Note that it is upside down. The liquify tool was used in the upper left hand corner and is distorted and shows the wrong portion of the image. We can't see what the image looks like as it's being liquified due to this distortion.
Pic3.jpg - Finished image. |

Due to some previously unseen video corruption issues, we updated the video driver on the systems, and this appears to have fixed the problem.
Thank you much for your help, OutPatient |

Well video driver issues would certainly explain it. Do you mine if I ask what brand of video card are you using (if you know)? |

Not a problem. It's a Dell integrated ATI Rage Pro. Thanks again. |
